Tiger Woods is officially returning to competitive golf later this month, teaming up once again with his son, Charlie, for the 27th PNC Championship.
The event, scheduled for December 21-22 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, will feature the iconic father-son duo alongside other notable golf families.
Woods Duo set to swing back into action together
In a statement confirming his participation, Woods expressed his enthusiasm for the annual tournament.
“I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” he said.
“Playing together is something we look forward to, and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”
This will be the fifth consecutive appearance for Team Woods in the 20-team field, open exclusively to major champions paired with family members.
The 36-hole event employs a scramble format, where players take turns selecting the best shot to play from, fostering collaboration and strategy.
The decision to compete comes after Woods recently opted out of his Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas due to ongoing recovery from back surgery.
Reflecting on his current condition, the 15-time major champion stated last week, “I’m still not there. When I’m ready to compete and play at this level, then I will.”

Woods last competed in July at the British Open, where he missed the cut, marking a challenging year with limited appearances and persistent injuries.
Despite these hurdles, the PNC Championship offers an opportunity for Woods to return to the course in a less competitive yet meaningful setting.
Charlie Woods, now a sophomore at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, continues to make strides in his golf career, recently participating in the U.S. Junior Amateur.
Together, the Woods duo will aim to improve upon their fifth-place finish at last year’s PNC Championship, their best result being a runner-up finish in 2021.
Defending champions Bernhard Langer and his son, Jason, headline a strong field of competitors.
With $1,085,000 in total prize money and $200,000 for the winning team, the tournament promises excitement as family duos showcase their skills.
