The Oklahoma City Thunder have made history. After a thrilling postseason run, the team clinched its first NBA championship since relocating to Oklahoma City, defeating the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 29 points as the Thunder brought the Larry O’Brien Trophy home to OKC.

With this monumental victory, the Thunder have etched their name into NBA history-and the city is preparing to celebrate in a big way. The long-awaited moment has arrived, and the championship parade is set to honor the team’s unforgettable achievement.

“The day of the parade will forever live in the annals of our city’s history,” Mayor David Holt said. “It is a celebration of our team’s historic accomplishment and our city’s renaissance. All Thunder fans from across the city, state and world are invited. I encourage all employers and entities in OKC to allow availability for all to attend, to the greatest extent possible. For those attending, please recognize the extraordinary and unprecedented magnitude of the event and expect long periods of time and significant walking for ingress and egress. And for downtown businesses and entities, please recognize that normal operations will not be possible on Tuesday. Let’s Thunder Up, OKC! WE are the champions!”

When Is the Thunder’s Championship Parade?

  • Date: Tuesday, June 24, 2025
  • Time: 10:30 a.m. CT

Oklahoma City officials have confirmed that the Thunder’s championship parade will take place on the morning of June 24. Fans are expected to fill the streets downtown as the team takes a well-earned victory lap. The celebration will last approximately 90 minutes.

Parade Route

The parade will begin at Northwest 10th Street and North Harvey Avenue, then move:

  • South on Harvey Avenue
  • West on Northeast Fifth Street
  • South on Walker Avenue
  • East on Oklahoma City Boulevard
  • South on South Robinson Avenue
  • Ending at Southwest Sixth Street

Cross streets and surrounding roads will be closed, so fans are encouraged to arrive early and plan ahead. Expect hot and humid weather typical for late June in Oklahoma-bring water, sunscreen, and dress appropriately.

Large crowds are expected to attend the city’s first-ever NBA championship parade. Similar events in other cities have attracted 500,000 people or more. Police officers, firefighters and emergency personnel from across the metro area will be along the route to help ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration.

How to Watch the Thunder’s Parade

  • TV Channel: KOCO 5
  • Live Stream: Thunder mobile app & Thunder YouTube channel

Before the parade begins, the team will gather inside the Paycom Center for a private ceremony featuring speeches from players and a presentation of the Larry O’Brien Trophy. While the event will not be open to the public, it will be broadcast live for fans to watch from home or mobile devices.

Stay tuned and get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration in downtown OKC. After years of building, the Thunder have reached the mountaintop-and now, the city gets to join them in the spotlight. Visit okcparade.com to read more details.
