The future of Thomas Muller does not involve hanging up his boots, at least not in the immediate future. As reported by ‘Sky Germany’, the former Bayern Munichplayer plans to stay active and is aiming for Major League Soccer in the United States.
The 35-year-old left Bayern after the last Club World Cup. He ended a long spell of 25 years (since he joined the youth ranks) and 17 seasons in the first team. His numbers are up there with the best: 756 games, 250 goals, 223 assists, 13 Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokals, two Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups and eight German Super Cups.
Now, however, he wants more… in a totally different context: that of MLS. Sky Germany reports that Los Angeles FC (the team of Lloris, Sergi Palencia and Mario Gonzalez) is one of the two clubs in the race for the signature of the attacking midfielder.
Muller’s contract with his new club is expected to be finalized soon and officially announced in the next two weeks.
