This is how Jake Paul’s face looked after the beating he took from Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul’s long-running experiment in professional boxing hit its harshest reality check yet after stepping into the ring with Anthony Joshua. The former heavyweight champion delivered a punishing sixth-round knockout that left Jake Paul hospitalized and facing the most serious injuries of his fighting career.

The defining moment came when Joshua landed a crushing punch that snapped Paul’s jaw in two places. The impact ended the fight immediately and sent Paul straight to the hospital, where surgeons worked to repair the damage. According to Paul himself, the procedure required multiple titanium plates and the removal of several teeth, forcing him onto a strict liquid-only diet during recovery.

Surgery, Titanium plates, and a difficult recovery for Paul

Paul later shared graphic details of his condition on his brother Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast. Appearing with a visibly swollen face, he explained that doctors installed four titanium plates, describing the sensation as feeling like “a baseball” was lodged in his mouth.

It’s like there’s a baseball in there. Four titanium plates. It’s literally snapped, bro, completely snapped.

Paul admitted, struggling to speak clearly during the interview. Medical staff instructed him not to chew for at least a week, limiting him to liquids as his jaw begins to heal.

In true Jake Paul fashion, even recovery became content. The social media star posted a video blending an expensive hot dog topped with caviar-reportedly worth thousands of dollars-so he could drink it. While the clip leaned into humor, it also highlighted just how severe the damage was from Joshua’s punch.

Social media reactions and Paul’s defiant message

Photos of Paul’s battered face quickly spread online, drawing a flood of reactions from boxing fans. Some expressed concern, while others were less sympathetic, reflecting the divided opinions Paul continues to generate within the sport.

Despite the physical toll, Paul struck a defiant tone afterward. He labeled the fight a “great experience” and insisted he has no regrets, even as he admitted he could barely talk due to pain and swelling. His controversial Instagram post, showcasing wealth and resilience, further fueled debate about whether Paul truly understands the risks of facing elite-level boxers.

Despite the loss, Paul also raised eyebrows with a controversial Instagram post, writing:

The American dream. Start yours today. Believe. Fail. Work. Fail. Learn. Fail. Never stop.

The loss raises serious questions about Paul’s future in the ring. While he has succeeded against fellow influencers and aging fighters, Joshua’s dominance made it clear there is a massive gap between YouTube boxing fame and world-class heavyweight power.

For now, Paul’s focus is on recovery. Whether this brutal lesson changes the direction of his boxing career, or only reinforces his willingness to chase the spotlight, remains to be seen.
