This pitcher could be key for the Yankees in 2026.
Selected in the seventh round of the 2022 Draft, Schlittler began 2025 with 10 games for Double-A Somerset, then made five starts with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Manager Aaron Boone has already called Schlittler “a future pillar of our rotation.” As the Yankees celebrated their victory over Boston, Gerrit Cole was full of praise for Schlittler: “This kid has come in and delivered right away. He’s got it. I don’t know exactly what it is; it’s hard to define. But he’s got it.”
