There’s light at the end of the tunnel for the Golden State Warriors; Curry is ready and Kuminga is close to returning

For the Golden State Warriors’ game this Friday, November 14, against the San Antonio Spurs, the franchise’s unquestioned leader, Stephen Curry, is back after overcoming the injury that had kept him off the court. His return marks an important boost for a team that has had to navigate through multiple setbacks in the early stretch of the campaign.

However, the news was not entirely cheerful for the Bay Area team, as Jonathan Kuminga is listed as questionable due to the bilateral knee tendinitis that has been troubling him. The issue has limited his participation and raised concerns about how soon he will be able to contribute at full capacity again.

On Wednesday, November 12, he came off the bench to log a few minutes with his team, but he was unable to continue and had to sit out the entire second half. As for the matchup against San Antonio, it will not be known until shortly before tipoff whether he will be fit enough to take the floor or if he will be forced to rest once more.

Even if he is deemed ready for action against San Antonio, he will not start. Instead, he would come off the bench to support his teammates. Steve Kerr explained that the players who would be in the starting lineup are Will Richard and Moses Moody, both of whom have been filling in during this stretch marked by injuries and rotation adjustments.

More Golden State Warriors players remain sidelined

De’Anthony continues his recovery from the knee injury he has been dealing with, which will keep him on the bench for now. His rehabilitation is progressing smoothly, and the expectation is that he could return to NBA action by late November or early December if everything goes according to plan. His return would provide a valuable defensive presence and much-needed depth at a time when the roster has been stretched thin.

This will be the second meeting between the Warriors and Spurs this week. The first took place on Wednesday, November 12, and resulted in a much-needed victory for Golden State, their first road win after six previous failed attempts. The matchup allowed the Warriors to regain some confidence and generate momentum as they try to stabilize their season.

At the moment, the record for the team led by Steve Kerr stands at 7-6, a mark that reflects how severely injuries have affected them in the early stages of the 2025-26 season.

They will try to extend their winning streak now against a San Antonio team that holds an 8-3 record and has been one of the more consistent squads in the Western Conference so far.

The Warriors, with key pieces finally nearing a return, hope this will mark the turning point they have been waiting for.
