On May 3rd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mexican boxer Jaime Munguía (44-2, 35 KOs) will immediately face his rematch against Frenchman Bruno Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs), who surprisingly defeated him last year in Tijuana, Mexico.
The official fight will be the co-main event on the same card where Canelo will have an important fight against Cuban William Scull.
It was on December 14, 2024, when Munguía, with high expectations from his fans in Tijuana, stepped into the ring. However, against all predictions, Frenchman Surace delivered a stunning knockout in the sixth round, which undoubtedly shocked the boxing world.
After that moment, Munguia, looking to improve and get back on track in his important career, joined Canelo Alvarez’s training team, led by Eddy Reynoso, with whom he has been working in recent months.
So, five months later, Mexican Jaime Munguia will have the chance again against Frenchman Surace, with the big goal of proving his ability and, above all, getting back to winning ways. This fight will undoubtedly generate high expectations in a card headlined by Canelo.
The card scheduled for May 3rd in Saudi Arabia
In the main event of the night, Canelo (168 pounds) will defend his WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight world titles when he faces undefeated IBF champion Scull on May 3rd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The full card includes:

Notably, Mexican Marco Verde will make his professional debut against Michel Polina, after a successful amateur career in which he won the silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, after losing to Uzbek Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev.
