The ‘war’ between Maxx Crosby and Patrick Mahomes takes to the Super Bowl with a provocative prediction

The stage is set for an epic Super Bowl battle as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs go head-to-head in what promises to be a closely contested matchup.

Both teams have demonstrated dominance throughout the season, cruising through the playoffs with impressive performances. Now, they are just one game away from hoisting the coveted Lombardi Trophy.

Despite their strengths, neither team can confidently claim a significant advantage over the other. This has led to widespread debate among analysts, fans, and even NFL players over which team will emerge victorious. The balance of power between the Eagles and the Chiefs has made this game one of the most difficult Super Bowls to predict in recent years.

Among those sharing their thoughts on the matchup is Las Vegas Raiders defensive star Maxx Crosby. Known for his fierce competitiveness on the field, Crosby recently gave his Super Bowl prediction on his podcast, The Rush. Like many others, he has found it challenging to pick a clear winner.

Crosby’s Prediction and Super Bowl MVP pick

On his podcast, Crosby revealed that his gut feeling about the game has changed as the event draws closer. Initially, he acknowledged that the Chiefs could very well take the title, but ultimately, he reaffirmed his belief in the Eagles.

“I hate to say it but the closer I get to the game, I’m starting to feel that too,” Crosby admitted regarding Kansas City’s chances. “I’m sticking with my guns. Philly! Saquon Barkley [for Super Bowl MVP].”

Crosby‘s mention of Barkley raised some eyebrows, as Barkley is not on either team competing in the Super Bowl.

Whether it was an error, a joke, or a subtle reference to future trade possibilities remains unclear.

A rivalry rooted in respect

For Crosby, the matchup also carries personal significance, particularly when it comes to his relationship with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Having faced Mahomes multiple times in AFC West battles, the two have developed a competitive yet respectful rivalry.

“It’s a high level of respect,” Mahomes said of Crosby. “We’re going to compete because that’s the type of guys we are, but we have a ton of respect for each other off the field.”

Mahomes, a two-time Super Bowl champion, is no stranger to performing on the biggest stage.

His ability to turn the tide of a game with his dynamic playmaking has been the foundation of Kansas City’s recent success.

If he leads the Chiefs to another victory, he could cement his legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
