The success of Tom Brady’s Las Vegas Raiders may depend on how they start the season – especially as they face off against one of his lifelong loves

The Las Vegas Raiders, backed by Tom Brady, face a crucial season as they aim to carve a path to success, though this required a deep overhaul with numerous changes both on and off the field. Under this scenario, they know that moving past poor seasons requires patience.

The loyal Silver and Black fanbase can’t hide their expectations, and the organization wants to bring joy to those who always stand by the team and support it unconditionally.

Patience is key for the Raiders to find improvement

With Tom Brady guiding the organization’s decisions, the offseason marks a pivotal moment where preparations to make a leap in quality begin at training camp. Many questions remain to be answered, along with an intense battle for starting positions.

With Pete Carroll as one of the new figures within the Raiders, the Head Coach brings a wealth of experience and leadership that bodes well for the team.

However, much of the success expected for 2025 hinges on starting the season strong, as previous years saw shaky beginnings. A good start could position them to reach the playoffs by season’s end.

Hondo Carpenter and Matt Hladik discussed the importance of the season’s start in the NFL on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast, noting that while many teams start slowly, this can make a difference.

“I think fans sometimes expect the game to be really good early in the year, and it is not,” said Carpenter.

“I think you do notice the difference in quality of play after the first couple of weeks are done. Things pick up,” said Hladik. “The quarterback play gets sharper, tackling gets a little bit better, at least from the eye test standpoint. Teams look crisper after the first few games. I think that is a result of the different preseason schedules.”

The Las Vegas Raiders will kick off the NFL season against the New England Patriots, Tom Brady‘s former team, in a game filled with mixed emotions, recalling the success he achieved with that franchise.
