The respect Dennis Rodman has for Michael Jordan differs from what he feels for LeBron James

Whenever Dennis Rodman speaks, he generates headlines. Recently, he made waves with comments aimed at Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter, criticizing the 21-year-old wide receiver and cornerback for marrying his high school sweetheart, Lenee, so early in life. Now, Rodman has turned his sharp tongue toward one of the NBA’s most celebrated figures, LeBron James.

Rodman’s comments on Michael Jordan

According to Rodman, Michael Jordan was not necessarily the toughest guard he faced during his career, particularly in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when Rodman played for the Detroit Pistons and Jordan starred for the Chicago Bulls. Still, he insists there has never been another like Jordan. In Rodman’s view, LeBron James does not measure up because Jordan was far superior, even to the man nicknamed “King.”

On the N3ON podcast, Rodman was asked who he would choose in a one-on-one matchup: his former teammate Michael Jordan or LeBron James. His response left little room for doubt.

Now, look at Michael Jordan and LeBron at that at their prime, right? Yeah. Hey man, this Michael Jordan was too sexy, man. When he had the ball or something like that, I mean, LeBron is like a goddamn dump truck. What the man? You know, Michael Jordan sit there dancing like barista coffee. What? and sit there and look at you and just keep doing it and make it look so easy.

That’s what Kobe did. Kobe did the same thing, man. People don’t recognize. Please recognize the guy, man. Kobe is good. But those three guys, man, so they they’re awesome, man.

This is not the first time Rodman has dismissed James. He has made it clear he is not especially fond of him, and when comparisons arise, Rodman never hesitates to draw a hard line.

LeBron is so easy to play. He’s so f– easy to play. He doesn’t have any moves, he ain’t got no moves. Scottie Pippen would shut his f— a- down quick before I got to him. His game is too simple; he’s just big.

Why Rodman believes Jordan is the GOAT, not LeBron

Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Rodman explained why, for him, “His Airness” is the true GOAT, a title he refuses to attribute to LeBron.

It’s really not a comparison. If LeBron was playing in the late 80s or early 90s, he’s just an average player. But to do what Mike has done, seriously. Michael… what he did is more charisma, more artistic, and stuff like that. LeBron is more like… boom. There’s no flash to his game. He’s a great player, don’t get me wrong. He’s a hell of a player.

For Rodman, the difference is not only about skills but also about fire-the relentless drive Jordan displayed to win at all costs.

On Mike Tyson’s podcast, he elaborated further:

[LeBron James] wasn’t bought up this way. I had that desire to win, I didn’t give a s- what it took… For [Michael Jordan] when he came up he had one thing [to do] – ‘I’m going if I didn’t beat your a- and do my job.’

Michael left and came back.” “He sucked in baseball, he came back in basketball, and won three. No one’s ever done stuff like that. That’s unheard of.

Rodman said.
