The reason Aaron Judge refuses to use the new torpedo bat has Yankees fans going wild

There is no doubt that the arrival of torpedo bats to Major League Baseball created a new paradigm, but not everyone thinks that these gadgets will become essential to continue playing baseball as it has been played in recent years.

And no, it’s not a question of automatic rejection or nostalgia, but of common sense, since talent is still above any technological advance, which although welcome for the benefit of the sport, will never be enough to take a place that does not belong to it while there are players who with their mere presence on the diamond revolutionize baseball.

Aaron Judge speaks and is backed up by facts

One of the main players who flies this flag is New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge, who after the sensation caused by his team using the famous bats at the start of this season, has refrained from using them, and his reasons are more than valid.

To begin with, Judge speaks with facts, and it is no coincidence that last season he hit 58 home runs, nor is it his five home runs so far, at the dawn of this new season.

His defenders know that Judge does not require designed bats to increase the chances of hitting a home run. The Yankees slugger already has it with him and that is precisely where his value lies, although it is not at all reprehensible that his teammates have decided to try with the ‘torpedo’, such as Cody Bellinger, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Paul Goldschmidt, Anthony Volpe and Austin Wells.

Judge’s congruence is a value

In fact, the now-injured Giancarlo Stanton is another who gave the bat the benefit of the doubt when no one was using it during last season. And he said that when he returns, he will continue to use them.

Aaron Judge had already made it clear from the start why he refused to use the bat, when he told The Atlantic: “What I did the last two seasons speaks for itself. Why try to change something if you already have something that works?“

So if he decides to continue not using the famous ‘torpedoes’, he would be consistent, and this value is supported by the talent, consistency and forcefulness that characterize him.
