The Raiders wish Travis Kelce the worst in what could be his last game in the NFL

Travis Kelce could be walking onto an NFL field for the final time on Sunday, and the Las Vegas Raiders are preparing accordingly.

With the Kansas City Chiefs eliminated from the playoff race for the first time in more than a decade, the season finale in Las Vegas carries an unusual sense of finality.

That possibility has not softened the competitive edge on the Raiders‘ sideline. If anything, it has sharpened it. Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham acknowledged the moment while making it clear that sentiment will not factor into how his defense approaches the game.

“If this is his last game, I hope it’s a terrible game [laughs],” Graham said. “And he wouldn’t expect anything else from us I think. But it’s been a privilege to go against him. It’s been a heated rivalry here with the Raiders in the past going against him.

“Nothing but respect his production, his leadership, his consistency. That’s what people got to understand is the consistency of it. You could have one year, two years, but when you’re talking about somebody that’s going to have a gold jacket. It’s the consistency and how he brought his team along and how he had to teach guys how to win. It’s impressive. It’s an honor to be able to go against him and play against him.”

Kelce’s career needs little framing. An 11-time Pro Bowler, he has been the defining tight end of his era, blending durability, production, and postseason success in a way few players at the position ever have.

For the Raiders, his dominance has been a familiar problem for more than a decade, one that game plans have rarely solved.

Rivalry outweighs sentiment in Las Vegas

The speculation surrounding Kelce‘s future has added a layer of reflection to a matchup that is usually fueled purely by rivalry. Kansas City‘s absence from the postseason feels unfamiliar, and Kelce’s age naturally invites questions about how much longer he wants to continue. There has been no announcement from Kelce himself, but the circumstances have made Sunday feel different.

If this does turn out to be his final game, Kelce would leave as a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the central figures in Kansas City‘s modern run of success. He has been a common denominator in the Chiefs‘ three Super Bowl titles, a leader in the locker room, and a player who helped redefine expectations for the tight end position.

Still, none of that changes how the Raiders plan to approach him. Graham’s comments reflected a balance that only comes from years of competition. Respect is earned. Sympathy is not part of the job.

That attitude mirrors how Kelce has always been treated within the division. Opponents have known exactly who he is and what he can do, and yet he has continued to deliver.
