Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, played his first game as a starter for the Los Angeles Lakers in the last game of the NBA regular season in which the Los Angeles Lakers lost 109-81 to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Coach J.J. Redick opted to rest players such as LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, Dorian Finney-Smith, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jaxson Hayes and Gabe Vincent ahead of the playoffs, in which they will face the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Rookie Dalton Knecht was the best of the Lakers with 27 points, while fellow rookie Bronny James finished with four points (2-of-8 shooting from two and 0-of-2 from three), three rebounds, six triples and four steals in 38 minutes.

Dalano Banton (23 points), Matisse Thybulle (15 points), Donovan Clingan (12 points and 12 rebounds) and Toumani Camara (14 points) led the Blazers to victory.

Bronny James’ performance, who was selected with the 55th pick in the last Draft (averaging only 4.8 points per game with USC in the NCAA), as a starter for the Lakers turned LeBron’s son into meme fodder and the object of harsh criticism on social networks.

Bronny James closes out his freshman year with one of the worst shooting percentages in the NBA

Bronny James closed his first season in the NBA with averages of 2.2 points (33.3% shooting from the field and 27.8% shooting from 3-point range) in 5.5 minutes in the 26 games he played with the Lakers.

Bronny James’ 33.3% shooting accuracy, who made his Lakers debut on October 22, 2024, is one of the worst in the NBA this season.

His best performances were 39 points in the G League with the South Bay Lakers and 17 points with the Lakers against the Bucks in the NBA.

Forbes estimates Bronny James’ net worth at $10 million.

Bronny James signed a guaranteed four-year, $7.9 million contract with the Lakers, an unusual deal for the No. 55 pick in the draft.

Before his arrival in the NBA, LeBron James’ son had already signed endorsement deals with brands such as Nike, Beats, Taco Bell, Panini and Beats by Dre, worth $5.9 million.

Social media, where he has more than eight million followers, is another of his sources of funding.

Before signing his contract with the Lakers, he already had a net worth of $5 million.

Forbes estimates Bronny James’ net worth at $10 million.
