The Pittsburgh Steelers dealt another blow to Shedeur Sanders; this season they will be led by Aaron Rodgers

In conversations prior to the NFL Draft held at the end of April, Shedeur Sanders was projected to be a first-round quarterback, and one of the teams linked to him was the Pittsburgh Steelers. These were recommendations from analysts and insiders, but the reality is that Mike Tomlin, the Head Coach, never mentioned anything.

In several mock drafts, Shedeur Sanders was placed at pick No. 21 with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as the team at that time had a need for a quarterback. However, in the end, they didn’t select him and waited until Aaron Rodgers decided to play with them-and so it will be.

At least this year, Aaron Rodgers will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but during the next offseason, the team will be back in the quarterback market-especially if the relationship between Rodgers and the Steelers is only for one year. Anything can happen, but it seems it will be just a one-season story.

The Steelers’ general manager revealed that Aaron Rodgers wanted to play for the Steelers

On June 5, the saga ended and Aaron Rodgers became the new quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, a situation that was truly intense. Omar Khan, the Steelers’ GM, revealed how negotiations went between both parties so that in the end they could unite.

“Some people might see my patience, or our patience, as a weakness, but we see it as a strength,” said Khan. “And we just felt good about it. If at any point we thought we wouldn’t end up where we wanted, we would have taken a different path. We felt comfortable and confident. We wanted Aaron Rodgers, and Aaron Rodgers wanted to be a Steeler, and that’s how it happened.”

Last season, despite the team performing poorly overall, Aaron Rodgers didn’t have a bad year with the New York Jets. He came close to 4,000 yards, threw 28 touchdown passes against only 11 interceptions, so he still has gas left in the tank for the future Hall of Famer.
