The Philadelphia Eagles face the toughest decisions as a team in the NFL after the Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles are still enjoying their Super Bowl LIX glory, but the franchise is already facing one of the toughest offseasons in recent memory. CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani predicts that the Eagles will be the “hardest hit” in free agency, with several players who contributed to the championship ready to cash in on the open market.

The defensive front faces the greatest uncertainty. Super Bowl standout Josh Sweat, who dominated Kansas City with 2.5 sacks and six tackles, headlines a list of key players preparing to enter free agency. Defensive tackle Milton Williams, who recorded five sacks during the regular season and added two more against Patrick Mahomes on the biggest stage, could also demand a hefty contract.

Linebacker Zack Baun, a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year, is another possible departure. Baun’s standout season included 151 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and five forced fumbles, making him one of the most coveted linebackers on the market.

“The reigning Super Bowl champions can’t keep everyone,” Dajani said. “This offseason, Philadelphia has several big names ready to hit the open market and cash in.”

Veteran defensive leader Brandon Graham could retire, while right guard Mekhi Becton and linebacker Oren Burks, who stepped up after Nakobe Dean‘s injury, are also free agents

Other names ready to test the waters include cornerback Avonte Maddox, running back Kenneth Gainwell and tight end C.J. Uzomah.

The Eagles have 14 unrestricted free agents in total, setting up an offseason that could reshape the roster. Philadelphia’s front office, led by Howie Roseman, has a strong track record of managing cap space and reloading talent, but this year’s challenge could be the toughest yet

The decisions made in the coming months will determine whether the Eagles can defend their title or face a setback in the ultra-competitive NFC.
