The Philadelphia Eagles’ biggest question marks heading into 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles have made it clear they’re building for more than just short-term success, with a bold, strategic vision aimed at keeping the franchise at the forefront of NFL contention in 2025 and beyond. The team hopes to repeat last season’s success, when they lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy as Super Bowl champions.

However, to achieve that goal, the team needs to keep looking forward, win matches through the season, have a strong mindset, and, of course, count on the perfect team for fighting the competition.

The Eagles are deep into their offseason, focused on building a roster capable of contending for another championship run. While there have been a few obstacles along the way, the organization’s belief remains strong, and the players continue to share a unified vision for the future. However, addressing their weak points remains critical.

The weak points for this Season

The NFL Draft was a good moment for the Philadelphia Eagles; they added some great players to their roster, who will contribute to the team’s dedication and effort. The team also added key pieces like Josh Uche, Azeez Ojulari, and Adoree’ Jackson to complement their current roster.

Everything seems to be perfect, but the journalist of CBS Sports, Cody Benjamin, highlighted some of the red flags that each team will have for the upcoming season. There, he pointed out that despite the new reinforcements, the Eagles’ defense could still face challenges.

“Vic Fangio was the perfect man to oversee the Eagles’ defense in 2024, bringing discipline and tenacity back to a unit that had become practically lifeless. Now he’ll be charged with defending the Birds’ crown while likely overseeing new starters at every level of the lineup.” Benjamin wrote.

He also got time to talk about the importance of having a veteran player who can accompany the new ones. “Returning youngsters like Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith Jr., and Quinyon Mitchell should keep the unit abuzz, but Fangio may need veteran Band-Aids like Azeez Ojulari and Adoree’ Jackson to help keep the ship afloat early on. It’s just the cost of fielding a championship roster.” He stated.

Maintaining the Team’s Core Identity

The team that won the last Super Bowl looks pretty similar to the one that is preparing for the start of the regular season in 2025. Even though they’ve suffered some obstacles during the offseason, the team is mentally prepared to have a good season. With stars players like Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Saquon Barkley leading the charge, the team is confident they can make 2025 a memorable season.

Confidence is running high in Philadelphia, with players across the roster determined to deliver their best this season. The Eagles will kick off their 2025 campaign at Lincoln Financial Field against the Dallas Cowboys, as they set their sights on repeating last year’s ultimate achievement, a Super Bowl title
