The Patriots react brutally to Drake Maye after losing the MVP race

A few days away from what will be the most important game of his career, Matthew Stafford has just delivered a brutal blow to Drake Maye after surpassing him in the NFL MVP voting.

The current mood of the young New England Patriots quarterback – who is in full preparation for Super Bowl LX – remains unknown, so under this scenario there are only two possible outcomes: either he takes it as motivation, or it delivers a serious emotional hit.

The New England Patriots’ reaction

The New England Patriots, logically, showed full support for their second-year quarterback who is aiming to win the Super Bowl this Sunday. To do so, they made a powerful post that also doubles as a clear message.

They uploaded a photo of Drake Maye on their X (Twitter) account with the caption:

“Bigger trophy on the mind.”

– clearly referring to the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Drake Maye came up short in his bid to win the NFL MVP, finishing behind fellow quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Although Stafford took home the NFL MVP award, Maye’s season was simply spectacular and turned the Patriots quarterback into one of the biggest stories of the year heading into Super Bowl LX.

The signal-caller – selected third overall in the 2024 NFL Draft – dominated the league in completion percentage (72%) and passer rating (113.5), even surpassing Stafford in efficiency. He also threw for 4,394 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions – numbers that propelled the Patriots to a 14-3 record and their first NFL playoffs appearance since 2021.

Maye also made a difference on the ground, rushing for 450 yards and four touchdowns, confirming his status as one of the NFL’s most dynamic quarterbacks.
