The NFL sides with Jalen Ramsey and suspends Ja’Marr Chase: Joe Flacco loses his top WR

Ja’Marr Chase has been suspended after instigating a brawl with Pittsburgh cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Last Sunday, during Week 11 of the NFL season, the Bengals visited the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium in a game the home team won 34-12. However, the most significant aspect of the helmet clash wasn’t the score, but rather the physical altercation between the two players.

The suspension is for unsportsmanlike conduct. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport says Chase will appeal. If the suspension is upheld, Chase will miss Sunday’s home game against the New England Patriots. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM ET at Paycor Stadium. His absence will cost him his weekly salary of $448,333, plus a $58,823 per-game bonus.

Ja’Marr Chase spits at Jalen Ramsey during Bengals-Steelers game

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was suspended one game by the NFL on Monday for spitting at Pittsburgh Steelers safety Jalen Ramsey during Sunday’s game. The incident occurred in the second half after a play in which Ramsey punched Chase and grabbed his face mask. Ramsey was ejected.

Chase was not penalized on the field after referee Bill Vinovich stated that his team did not see Chase spit at Ramsey. Video appeared to show Chase spitting at Ramsey, prompting the league’s sanction. Chase denied spitting when questioned about it in the locker room on Sunday. He did not speak in the locker room on Monday.

Bengals hope to have Joe Burrow back for game against Ravens

Joe Burrow wouldn’t reveal too much about when he might return to play for the Cincinnati Bengals this season, but he does have a potential date in mind. Burrow said it would be very significant if he could return for the Thanksgiving Day game against the Baltimore Ravens on November 27. Two years ago, Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury in November at M&T Bank Stadium.

Burrow officially returned to practice on a limited basis Monday as the team opened its 21-day window to return from the injured list. “We’ll see how these next two weeks go,” Burrow said in his first press conference since the injury. “There are a lot of factors involved. There are a lot of variables to consider.”
