The NFL and refs favor the Chiefs and the league is rigged because of it says a very disappointed Terrell Owens

Terrell Owens is without a doubt one of the best wide receivers that has ever played in the NFL. A prolific player with great hands and a knack for making big plays, his career totals were 1,078 catches for 15,934 yards, 14.8 yards per catch and 153 touchdowns.

Owens was selected to six Pro Bowls. He was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of 2000s. TO was also never scared of speaking on issues on and off the field and he always gave the media something to talk about, whether it was about his quarterbacks, controversial celebrations that were offensive to the rivals or the off-field antics.

Whenever Owens speaks you can be sure that he’s going to cause controversy around the sports world and his latest statements were no different as his words come days before the Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Terrell Owens says that the NFL is rigged in favor of the Chiefs

In a recent appearance on the sports talk show “It Is What It Is”, a podcast hosted by rappers Cam’Ron and Mase, Terrell Owens was asked about Super Bowl LIX matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. The NFL Hall of Famer said he wouldn’t bet against the Chiefs.

“I played the game. I’m watching the game, and I’m looking at all these calls that’s benefitting the Kansas City Chiefs. Look at the game before against the Texans.Mahomes is smart… causing the flag. He’s getting the benefit of the… he didn’t even get hit, 15-yard flag. Will Anderson barely hit him, another… that can stop the momentum of the game.

According to Owens, at that point in time the Houston Texans were in the game but those ref calls gave the Kansas City Chiefs extra downs and vit changed the whole complexity of the game in favor of Patrick Mahomes‘ team.

“You can even go back to the last couple of Super Bowls, even when the Niners played the Super Bowl. Look at all the holding calls. If you watch that tape, bro, it was crazy. They were getting clotheslined. They were not calling it. It was blatant calls that were hits … it’s unreal. I’ve never thought I would say that games were rigged … bro, it is unreal at the amount of calls that are not called against the Kansas City Chiefs that are called against everybody else.”

A history of favoritism?

The Kansas City Chiefs‘ 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship wasn’t without controversy. Several key calls made by referee Clete Blakeman and his team left Bills fans and NFL observers questioning the integrity of officiating.

The AFC Championship Game wasn’t the first time this postseason that officiating raised eyebrows in favor of the Chiefs. In their divisional-round win over the Houston Texans, Kansas City benefited from a questionable unnecessary roughness penalty against Houston after contact during a Patrick Mahomes slide. This added to a growing perception of inconsistency in the treatment of opposing teams.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter highlighted the imbalance, noting that during the Chiefs’ eight-game playoff winning streak, opponents had been called for six roughing-the-passer penalties, while Kansas City committed none. Additionally, opponents were flagged four times for unnecessary roughness compared to just once for the Chiefs.
