The New York Giants have said NO to Shedeur Sanders, prefer another quarterback, and already have a plan to get him

Just days before the Draft, the New York Giants appear to have made an important decision: with the third overall pick, they will select the best available talent at that time, and all signs point to it being Abdul Carter, the spectacular edge rusher from Penn State, who bears a strong resemblance to Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys.

At the start of the offseason, the team’s biggest need was a quarterback, and Shedeur Sanders was rumored to be the front office’s top choice. However, New York signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, although that doesn’t rule out the team seeking depth at the position in the Draft.

Jalen Milroe projected to the Giants in a Mock Draft

Despite Sanders being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in his final year with the Colorado Buffaloes-after leading the nation in completion percentage-he’ll have to wait for another team.

In a new mock draft by Eric Edholm of NFL.com, it’s projected that New York will take Abdul Carter. However, that wouldn’t be the only move the Giants make in the first round. New York would trade draft capital to the Minnesota Vikings to acquire the 24th overall pick, where they would select Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.

“With Jaxson Dart off the board, the Giants can’t hesitate to move up for a quarterback if they really want one,” Edholm wrote. “Milroe makes sense for New York, even if it’s a risky bet.”

Opinions are divided on Milroe, but in recent days his stock has been rising. The former Alabama player is explosive, having scored 32 rushing touchdowns over the last two seasons, and he could develop behind a veteran like Russell Wilson.

“The Vikings, with only four picks, could be open to trading. In this scenario, the Giants give up picks 34, 99, and 105 to move up to 24 and draft an explosive player,” Edholm added.

So, the Giants could still be in the market for a quarterback-perhaps trading up in the first round to get one or waiting to see if someone like Milroe or Jaxson Dart falls to them early in the second round.
