The NBA star who denies Michael Jordan’s greatness

Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves star who was discovered as a denier of Michael Jordan’s success in the NBA (questioning the skills of ‘Air’s’ rivals), was highly critical of the trade that ended with Luka Doncic on the Lakers and Anthony Davis on the Mavericks.

“Nobody knew about the transfer; that’s crazy. Someone should investigate what happened, why they changed probably the best scorer in the competition. You don’t change the best scorer in the NBA at 25 years old and coming off playing in the Finals,” Edwards told USA Today.

Anthony Edwards, after Luka Doncic trade: “I’m scared”

Edwards believes that “if they trade Luka, anyone can be traded” and admitted that “I’m scared”.

“Tim Conelly (head of operations for the Timberwolves), if you’re going to trade me, let me know,” he joked.

Anthony Edwards, who at just 23 years of age has been a three-time All-Star and this season has a contract worth $42.1 million, is averaging 26.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists this season with the Timberwolves.

Why can Anthony Edwards be considered a denier of Michael Jordan’s NBA success?

“They say it was tougher then than it is now, but I don’t think anyone had as much talent then. Michael Jordan was the only one who really had skill, you know what I mean? That’s why when they saw Kobe Bryant, they said, ‘Oh, my God.’ But now everybody has skills,” said Anthony Edwards.

The competition against Michael Jordan at that time didn’t even have the physical tools to keep up with him, so he was basically a Bugatti and everyone else was a Honda Civic

Gilbert Arenas

Anthony Edwards’ words angered Magic Johnson: “I never respond to a guy who never won a championship… He didn’t win a college championship, I don’t even know if he won a high school championship.”

So… who did Jordan play against? Anthony Edwards said they weren’t talented, meaning they weren’t athletic enough to keep up with him. Today everyone could keep up with Michael Jordan

Gilbert Arenas

The one who endorsed Edwards’ theory against Jordan was Gilbert Arenas: “The competition against Michael Jordan at that time didn’t even have the physical tools to keep up with him, so he was basically a Bugatti and everyone else was a Honda Civic.”

“So… who did he play against? He said they weren’t talented, meaning they weren’t athletic enough to keep up with him. Today everybody could keep up with Michael Jordan,” Arenas said.
