The Dodgers will arrive tomorrow, Friday, October 31, to face the Blue Jays in Toronto for Game 6 of the World Series. Dave Roberts, Shohei Ohtani and company must win if they want to force a seventh game to decide the MLB 2025 champion. It should be remembered that in Game 5 it was the Canadians who took the victory by 6-1. Will the Florida relievers again wear the number 51 on their caps?
With just the first three pitches of Game 5, Davis Schneider and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit back-to-back home runs, Trey Yesavage made history with 12 strikeouts in front of the Dodger Stadium crowd and the Blue Jays beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-1 to take a 3-2 lead and move one step closer to winning the 2025 World Series in Major League Baseball.
Dodgers keep Alex Vesia present with ’51’ on their caps
The Dodgers have been without left-hander Alex Vesia for this series due to an undisclosed family matter, and the team’s relievers have found a special way to keep their teammate with them in spirit during the World Series by having Vesia’s number, 51, embroidered on their hats. The pitcher will no longer be present for any of the remaining games of the Fall Classic.
(…) baseball is completely secondary to what they are going through
“Since we were still in Toronto, we had tried to think of many ways to show our love and support for him and his family. (…) We just recognize that we really miss them, and baseball is completely secondary to what they’re going through,” Dodgers relief pitcher Evan Phillips said. Meanwhile, the Angels are hoping to get back on track after losing two straight games at home.
Kevin Gausman to start Game 6 for Blue Jays
The World Series will be on the line in Toronto and the pressure will be on Kevin Gausman, with the Blue Jays one win away from clinching the title after a 6-1 victory over the Dodgers in Game 5. The return to Rogers Centre will be welcome. Toronto went 54-27 at home this season, and even while at Dodger Stadium, their home in Toronto has been packed with fans attending to watch the games on the big screen.
“Rogers Centre is going to be fun. It’s going to be electric,” Gausman said. “It’s going to be everything that it’s been for the last month and probably more. We’re excited to go back. Obviously, we’re very good at home, so we feel confident playing in front of our own team. The fans there have been amazing, especially lately. They bring the energy, they lift us up when we need it.”
