‘Front Office Sports’ reproduces the moment when Joel Embiid, star of the Sixers, recognized a famous television mobster as the towel boy at a Nets game.“That looks like Junior,” Embiid told a Sixers teammate, referring to a character from Netflix’s ‘Black Rabbit’ series.

A member of the Nets staff heard Embiid’s comment and replied: “That’s Junior.”

And it was true. It was Forrest Weber, the Nets assistant who played Junior, a violent mobster from the series co-starring Jason Bateman and Jude Law

Who is Forrest Weber, the Nets assistant who has ended up starring in a hit Netflix series?

Inside Barclays, he has already become a local celebrity for visiting players and coaches.

Forrest Weber graduated in acting in 2012 from Boston University and in 2014, after moving to New York to look for work as an actor, he got a job as an assistant with the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for minimum wage.

Forrest Weber managed to survive in New York by getting his start in television pilots (American Odyssey), cameos in series (Spotlight, Law & Order, Gotham or The Blacklist) and off-Broadway shows, while spending his free time working for the Nets in preseason and draft workouts, minicamps and training camps.

After taking off his career as an actor, he limits himself to working mainly on NBA game nights. His duties include managing the referees’ locker room and attending to the needs of the visiting team.

“It’s never been about the money. My acting career has been my source of income. It’s a great position in an organization if you’re looking to move up. I’m one of the 1% of people who do this job and feel comfortable where they are,” Forrest Weber told Alex Schiffer

Forrest Weber was a ball boy for the Spurs

During his childhood, Forrest Weber was a ball boy for the Spurs when Sean Marks, the current general manager of the Nets, played in San Antonio.

“Sean has seen me go from being a 12-year-old ball boy to a kid in this series. I was expecting one or two congratulations, but he called his staff and said some kind words about me,” said Forrest Weber, who received a Nets jersey with his name on it, to ‘FOS’

Junior, the violent role played by Forrest Weber, in the series ‘Black Rabbit’

Junior, the character played by actor Forrest Weber in Black Rabbit, is the impulsive, would-be mobster who is the son of mob boss Joe Mancuso, tasked with collecting a debt from Vince Friedkin (Jason Bateman).
