The margin of error is over for the Chiefs, and that is why Andy Reid sent a forceful message to his upcoming rivals

The start of the season was complicated for the Kansas City Chiefs, who dropped their first two games. The reason was simple: they were missing key players who were either injured or suspended by the league.

Gradually, they began to regain rhythm, wins started to appear, and it seemed that the rough start had been left behind as nothing more than an unpleasant memory. But that was not the case. Everything continued unfolding like a roller coaster for the team.

Up to this point, they have been unable to find the level of performance that would allow them to maintain stability. Yet despite everything, the Chiefs are not eliminated. If they manage to win the five remaining games on their schedule, they could close the regular season with an 11-6 record, a mark that might propel them into the postseason-and once there, opponents would need to be extremely cautious.

The Chiefs’ upcoming matchups will be against:

  • Houston Texans
  • Los Ángeles Chargers
  • Tennessee Titans
  • Denver Broncos
  • Las Vegas Raiders

Of these, three are divisional rivals, which naturally raises the intensity. Though to be fair, the Raiders may not fall into that category at the moment. And the meeting with the Titans seems like it could be more of a walk in the park.

We’re going to try to tickle your tonsils on every play.

Andy Reid

That was Andy Reid’s humorous way of acknowledging that the path ahead is rugged and that Kansas City faces a difficult challenge due to the fierce competition in the AFC for a postseason berth.

The first obstacle against the Houston Texans, a tight and unpredictable battle

Week 14 pairs the Chiefs against the Texans, a team with a terrifying defense-just ask the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen. The slight difference Kansas City may have in its favor is that their offensive line is not as poor as Buffalo’s, which allowed eight sacks on Allen.

The matchup will present a major test, one that, if they overcome, could make the road ahead appear like the pursuit of a long-awaited rainbow.

Another point to consider is penalties. From Reid’s perspective, during the Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys, they hurt themselves as if they had “shot themselves in the foot.” The challenge is enormous, but a team like Kansas City is capable of dealing with that and more.
