Angel Reese is definately turning adversity times into dominance times. The Chicago Sky forward carved her spot in WNBA history last Sunday.

She became the first ever to get 15 or more rebounds in four games in a row, grabbing a total of 70 rebounds during those games. In her latest game, she earned 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists that helped the Sky win 92-85 against the Los Angeles Sparks.

The game held big importance as it was on the same day as the retirement ceremony for Sparks star Candace Parker, from Chicago and an ex-Sky champ. Reese’s big game seemed like the baton was givento her.

“God doesn’t give me any storm I can’t handle”

After the game, Reese looked back at her tough start to the season and the strong mind that helped her turn it around.

“I always say to myself before every game, ‘God doesn’t give me any storm that I can’t handle,‘” Reese told reporters. “I went through a storm through the first eight games where I couldn’t finish and it was frustrating. But I trusted my work, and my teammates trusted my work in finally coming through-and coming through efficiently.”

Reese made 10 of 19 shots from hte field, huge compared to her 0 for 8 game against the New York Liberty earlier this year. Her latest push includes four straight games with double-doubles and six in her last seven games, making her the most steady player for the Sky.

A bright star represented in stats

In her second year, Reese has averages of:

  • 11.7 points
  • 12.3 rebounds
  • 3.6 assists
  • 1.8 steals per game

Her skill in rebounding not only set records but also helped lift the Sky to a 5-11 record, moving them to 10th position in the WNBA.

“Dubs in the Chatttt”

After the win, Reese celebrated online with a post on X:”DUBS IN THE CHATTTT.”

Fans loved it, calling her “Fourth Quarter Barbie,” “Superhuman Barbie,” and “Point Forward Barbie“-names that show her strong place in the game and in culture.

As the Sky rebuild, Angel Reese is showing she is more than just a talent, she is a force ready to change the future of the league.

The future is now

After marking WNBA history with four games of 15+ rebounds in a row and leading in total rebounds, Angel Reese seems unstoppable. As the Sky aim for the playoffs, Reese’s plans include leading on and off the court and growing her reach into media and giving back.

Reese is also growing her sway outside basketball. Her podcast, ‘Unapologetically Angel’, finished its first season with star guests like Shaquille O’Neal and Lisa Leslie. With over 130,000 YouTube followers and 4.8 million on Instagram, Reese is the top followed WNBA star online.

She’s set for a second season of the podcast, with extra stuff planned during the WNBA season.
