Despite many forgettable years, the New York Giants are a historic franchise that has won four Super Bowls, so being part of this organization is always a great privilege. The last Vince Lombardi Trophy they lifted was in 2012, when they defeated Tom Brady’s Patriots for the second time in the NFL’s biggest game. Since then, they have only made the playoffs a couple of times.
The last three seasons have been disastrous for the New York Giants, but the most recent one brought a positive development that could change the course of the franchise: quarterback Jaxson Dart. He made an immediate impact, especially by changing the team’s energy, and in his rookie season he recorded 24 total touchdowns.
If there is one thing to thank former Giants head coach Brian Daboll for, it is selecting Jaxson Dart in the most recent Draft, when the team surprised many by trading with the Houston Texans to acquire the 25th overall pick in the first round in order to select the Ole Miss product.
John Harbaugh must break a curse
There is no doubt that John Harbaugh is one of the best head coaches in the NFL. As soon as he was dismissed by the Baltimore Ravens, all seven teams in need of a head coach at the time immediately contacted his agent to request interviews. There is no question that the Giants’ project is the most attractive, and all signs point to Harbaugh landing there.
The Giants are currently excited, but there is something to worry about. In NFL history, eight head coaches have reached the Super Bowl with two different teams, yet none has managed to win it with both. Among them are legendary figures such as Don Shula and Bill Parcells, as well as Andy Reid, who failed to win with the Eagles but succeeded with the Chiefs.
Now comes the case of John Harbaugh, who already won a Super Bowl in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens. He now arrives in New York, where there is clearly a strong project in place. The big question is whether Harbaugh will become the first head coach in history to win a Vince Lombardi Trophy with two different franchises.
Reports suggest that John Harbaugh’s contract with the New York Giants is worth five years and $100 million, which would make him the highest-paid head coach in NFL history. Without a doubt, the Big Blue will be one of the most exciting teams to watch in 2026, with Harbaugh in charge and Jaxson Dart leading the team.
