The first problem after the marriage between Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen has to do with Joe Burrow

Last season, once again, Josh Allen came very close to leading the Buffalo Bills to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1993. However, once again, he couldn’t get past the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, in the AFC Championship Game. Mahomes has now defeated Allen four times in the playoffs.

Despite that painful situation, Josh Allen was awarded the MVP for the first time in his career, as he led an offense – without a top-tier receiver – to an average of 30.9 points per game, second only to the Detroit Lions’ offense. Allen had a total of 40 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions.

Josh Allen had strong arguments to win that award. However, some believe it was unfair for the Bills quarterback to be named MVP, as Lamar Jackson had better stats: 4,172 passing yards and 41 passing touchdowns, plus four rushing touchdowns. It would have been the third MVP of Lamar’s career, but it’s now Allen’s – and no one can take it from him.

It will be very hard for Allen to retain the MVP in 2025

At betting houses, there are two main candidates to win the MVP – no surprise – Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen again. Both are tied in the latest DraftKings odds at +550. The Bills and the Ravens are strong contenders to dominate the AFC.

However, after Allen and Jackson, the betting houses have another candidate who will undoubtedly be a major threat: Joe Burrow. He had better stats than both last season, but the MVP slipped away because the Cincinnati Bengals didn’t make the playoffs.

Bleacher Report writer Brad Gagnon stated that Joe Burrow is a real threat to Allen and Jackson: “The bar will be even higher this time, especially if Joe Burrow once again puts up superior numbers and the Bengals actually win,” said Gagnon.

Last season, Joe Burrow threw 43 touchdowns and 4,918 yards. The LSU product led the NFL in both passing touchdowns and passing yards, but the Bengals’ slow start cost them a playoff berth. In addition, Burrow has two elite receivers – perhaps the best in Jamar Chase and also Tee Higgins.
