It’s really happening. Jake Paul is really going to fight Anthony Joshua in an eight-round professional bout. When Paul called out both Joshua and Gervonta Davis following his latest victory, it was taken as a joke by just about everyone. But in the end, Paul was able to get both elite boxers to bite.

“Tank” fell by the wayside following his legal troubles, paving the way for Joshua to step in. Paul will go from preparing for a 5-foot-8 lightweight to a 6-foot-6 behemoth. Joshua dwarfed Paul during their recent face-off, concerning the latter’s fans. It seems like Paul will finally step into the ring with a truly dangerous opponent. Why is Paul doing it, aside from legacy?

Jake Paul could potentiall earn up to $100 million from Anthony Joshua fight

It simply comes down to the financial figures that the event is set to deliver. Both Joshua and Paul will reportedly get a $50 million guaranteed payout just from taking part in the fight.

Then comes the revenue from the event itself, which benefits Paul due to his ownership of Most Valuable Promotions. MVP’s agreement with Netflix could see Paul get an additional $25 million to $50 million depending on viewership numbers.

With those numbers in mind, it’s clear why Paul is willing to step into the ring “scared and hopeless” against one of the strongest punchers in the world of boxing. Paul may very well get knocked out, which is what many want and expect, but he will laugh his way to the bank the day after.
