The United States team is battling for a place in the FIBA championship currently being held in Puerto Rico, the island often called the Island of Enchantment. The top players from the WNBA have dominated the event from beginning to end. Among them, of course, is Caitlin Clark.

This past Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Stars and Stripes national team faced New Zealand, and in that matchup, the Indiana Fever star delivered another standout performance that added to her growing influence during the tournament.

Caitlin Clark posted the following numbers in the game alongside her teammates, helping secure another victory that brings them even closer to their objective:

  • 14 points
  • 6-11 shooting
  • 6 assists
  • 2 steals

The final score favored the United States 101-46. It was a resounding blowout delivered by the professional players from the WNBA. The contest also marked the largest margin of victory they have achieved so far in the tournament, a difference of 55 points across the four games they have played.

With the result secured on Sunday, the United States improved to a 4-0 record with one final game remaining against Spain. As expected, Clark has captured most of the attention throughout the competition, drawing focus from fans and analysts alike.

Her presence on the court has been one of the central talking points of the tournament, not only because of her statistical contributions but also due to the attention she consistently generates wherever she plays.

The strange moment Caitlin Clark had to experience

Once the game ended and the victory was secured, the players headed toward the locker room. On the way to the area where reporters were waiting, a member of the event staff approached Caitlin

The person is to say something to her.

This happened after the Fever player had avoided the media during the previous game against Italy. As she walked past reporters following that matchup, she turned toward the wallpress positioned in front of her, clearly avoiding the press gathered in the mixed zone.

That moment quickly sparked conversation across social media, where fans rushed to share their interpretations of what they had witnessed.

Caitlin wasn’t getting away from the media 2 days in a row they sent a handler this time lmfao.

A fan wrote while sharing a video of the moment.

Another one said,

They learned quickly they were not letting CC slide by like yesterday hugging the wall & hiding her face.

Lol they circled Caitlin to make sure she can’t run away

.

A commenter shared. Wheras another supporter stated,

Dude got in front of Caitlin to stop her from leaving again.

They brought a specialist in to pry her off the wall.

An amused follower posted.

I’m crying dawg cc rlly tried to sneak past and they had to cut her off to lead her to media

A sixth social media user noted.

Many theories have been discussed, but nothing has been clarified so far, meaning the speculation surrounding the moment will likely continue for some time.
