The Dallas Cowboys with George Pickens have become a threat to Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys addressed one of their biggest needs in the Draft when, with their first pick, they selected Tyler Booker, an offensive guard from the University of Alabama. However, fans of the team were not very pleased, as their biggest wish had been to get a playmaker.

At that moment, the team was in need of a number two wide receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb, but that didn’t happen – until Jerry Jones surprised everyone by trading for George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pickens, a former second-round pick, had a strong year last season despite being in a conservative offense, recording 59 receptions for 900 yards and three touchdowns. There’s no doubt that he’s a very talented receiver, though he also has some behavioral issues. Still, with talent like his, the risk is worth it.

The Dallas Cowboys could have one of the best offenses in 2025

Fox Sports analyst and former NFL defensive player Emmanuel Acho praised the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones after the major move, which will undoubtedly benefit the offense led by Dak Prescott.

“The Cowboys have officially just assembled one of the best, most complete offenses in all of football,” he said. “You have CeeDee Lamb, who can now operate from the slot… he can go up against inside corners, against outside linebackers,” Acho said. “And then you have George Pickens, who is probably one of the best, if not the best, deep-ball receivers in football.”

On another note, Acho also highlighted the rebuilding of the offensive line, which could soon become one of the best in the NFL again, like it was several years ago: “In two years, they’ll probably have three All-Pros,” he said, naming Tyler Smith, Tyler Guyton, and Tyler Booker as future cornerstones in the trenches.

The Dallas Cowboys appear to be back on the right path, although 2025 looks to be a tough season since they share the division with two clear contenders: the Philadelphia Eagles (current champions) and the Washington Commanders, who have taken a big step forward with Jayden Daniels.
