Each day we get closer to the NFL Draft, and the rumors surrounding the Dallas Cowboys are heating up. Of course, they’re the most famous team in the league-and the world-so all eyes are always on Jerry Jones’ squad.
In 2021, the Dallas Cowboys selected Micah Parsons with the 12th overall pick, and without a doubt, it was a huge win for Jerry Jones and company. Parsons has had an incredible impact-four years in the league and 52.5 quarterback sacks. He’s now in talks to become the highest-paid non-quarterback player in the entire NFL.
The Dallas Cowboys have their eyes on Tyler Warren from Penn State
Jerry Jones’ team has many needs, but the reality is they desperately need playmakers on that offense, which is led by Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. In such a tough division, alongside the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles and the competitive Washington Commanders, they need players who can change the fate of the franchise and make an immediate impact.
According to Matt Miller of ESPN, in a mock draft, he placed Tyler Warren, a tight end from Penn State, with the Cowboys in the first round. Interestingly, Dallas picked Micah Parsons at No. 12 back in 2021, and now they’re in the same position and could once again pick a Nittany Lion.
Warren has excellent skills to get open on short routes and the talent to rack up yards after the catch. The Penn State player won the John Mackey Award for the nation’s best tight end after catching 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns.
It’ll be tough for the Dallas Cowboys to land him
Anything can happen, but Tyler Warren is such a high-caliber player that it’ll be difficult for him to fall to the 12th pick. If he does end up there, Dallas shouldn’t even think twice about taking him. However, the reality is that several other teams are also interested.
One of the teams most linked to Warren are the New York Jets, who pick at No. 7. So if Dallas wants the Penn State star, they’ll have to make an extra effort.
