The Cowboys are planning a “surprise” move
According to NFL specialist Dalton Wasserman, the Cowboys have their eyes on Jahdae Barron in the draft.
“A cornerback is not a pressing need for Dallas, but the team lost Jourdan Lewis in free agency and has no clear internal replacement for his slot position,” Dalton reports.
“Texas’ Jahdae Barron brings over 900 plays of experience playing inside and was the top-rated cornerback in zone coverage in the FBS in 2024, a skill set that would make him an ideal fit for Matt Eberflus’ scheme,” Wasserman continued.
In the 2024 season, the Dallas Cowboys ranked 26th in the NFL, allowing 4,007 passing yards (235.7 per game) and exhibiting a weak pass defense.
Problems in the secondary, injuries and poor pressure on the quarterback were key factors. To climb in this category in 2025, it will be imperative to strengthen the secondary and optimize play execution. They need to make a smart decision; their fans won’t stand for another terrible season.
Would Jahdae Barron live up to expectations in Dallas?
Absolutely! With 67 tackles, 11 deflections, and five interceptions, Barron is a key playmaker who could ignite the Cowboys‘ secondary if they select him in the first round of the 2025 draft.
Fans have lost patience with poor results and want immediate results. We’ll see if Barron can bring his A-game to the field and bring some joy to the loyal fans who suffered enough last year.
