The Cowboys are anticipating Micah Parsons’ contract, but is it really viable with Jerry Jones’ position?

Amid the good news, bad news has stolen the spotlight at the Dallas Cowboys‘ training camp. The team has been deeply concerned about the situation with Micah Parsons, one of their best players, who they might not have available for the start of the NFL season.

Beyond the sporting issues surrounding the team, this has been the dark “spectacle” for the franchise, with Jerry Jones refusing to back down.

What does Schottenheimer think about Micah Parsons’ situation?

It was head coach Brian Schottenheimer who recently opened the possibility of seeing the superstar play in Week 1 with the Dallas Cowboys, which would be a pleasant surprise considering they face the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Schottenheimer expressed confidence in seeing Parsons with the team, winking at reporters. He also added that Parsons‘ absence from training camp does not affect his ability to make plays in that game.

“One thing he has not lost the ability to do is rush the passer and make plays,” he said.

Meanwhile, everyone knows that Micah Parsons requested a trade, though no deal has materialized, amid the pressure Jerry Jones has applied through the media, as he did with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb in 2024.

The situation seems hopeful, but the truth is that Micah Parsons‘ contract renewal has not been finalized, he isn’t practicing, and as of today, it’s hard to imagine him suited up for Week 1.
