The college program that supplies the most premium talent at the 2026 NFL Draft

The Ohio State Buckeyes are once again proving why they are considered one of college football’s premier talent pipelines, and according to Bucky Brooks, they sit at the top of the 2026 NFL Draft class.

In a recent evaluation of the top prospects at each position, Brooks identified Ohio State as the program supplying the most premium talent in this year’s draft pool. By assigning point values to top-five positional rankings, the Buckeyes separated themselves from the rest of the field, reinforcing their reputation as a consistent producer of NFL-ready players.

Despite falling short of back-to-back national titles, Ohio State‘s roster under head coach Ryan Day has remained loaded with elite contributors on both sides of the ball. That depth is reflected in the number of Buckeyes appearing near the top of positional rankings, particularly at key impact positions.

One of the most intriguing wideouts in the country

On offense, Carnell Tate has emerged as one of the most intriguing wide receiver prospects. The 6-foot-2 playmaker developed into a reliable big-play threat, capitalizing on defenses that focused heavily on his teammate, Jeremiah Smith. His growth as a route runner and ability to win one-on-one matchups have made him a projected early-round selection.

Tight end Max Klare adds another dimension to Ohio State‘s offensive pipeline. Known for his pass-catching ability and run-after-catch skills, Klare also brings value as a blocker, making him an attractive option for teams seeking a complete tight end at the next level.

Defensively, the Buckeyes may be even more loaded. Arvell Reese headlines the group as the top-ranked linebacker prospect. His combination of athleticism and pass-rush ability has drawn comparisons to elite NFL defenders, and his versatility projects well in modern defensive schemes. Alongside him, Sonny Styles has impressed evaluators with his range, instincts and hybrid skill set, boosting his stock after a strong showing at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Safeties that are at the top of their class

Up front, Kayden McDonald offers size and physicality as a run-stopping defensive tackle, while in the secondary, Caleb Downs stands out as one of the most complete safeties in the class. Downs‘ ability to impact the game in coverage, run support and as a blitzer has solidified his status as a potential top-10 pick.

The collection of talent across multiple position groups highlights why scouts continue to rely on Ohio State as a primary source of impact players. With the draft approaching, the Buckeyes‘ presence near the top of so many rankings underscores their role as the leading “football factory” in this year’s class.

For NFL teams looking to build through the draft, Ohio State remains one of the most trusted pipelines, and the 2026 class may further strengthen that reputation.
