With the 2025 NFL Draft just a week away, the Buffalo Bills find themselves at a crossroads in the secondary.
The departure of Rasul Douglas and the trade of Kaiir Elam have left a noticeable void opposite Christian Benford, and while Dane Jackson is back in the fold, questions remain about whether he can hold down a starting role.
Bills eye Jalen Ramsey as ideal fit, keep Bradberry on radar
For the Bills, recent developments in Miami have stirred significant buzz in Western New York.
Jalen Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro cornerback, could be on the move after just two seasons with the Dolphins.
Miami general manager Chris Grier confirmed during a press conference that both sides are open to a trade.
“I don’t know. Trades come together in all different times,”Grier said.
“We’ve seen from before the draft, during the draft… When it happens it will happen. If it doesn’t, we’ll deal with it then.”
If Ramsey does become available, the Bills are widely seen as a natural suitor.
Former NFL safety and analyst Ryan Clark believes Buffalo should be on the phone already.
“When I think about the Buffalo Bills, you look at a team that is going to go into this season or at least right now on their roster with Dane Jackson and Christian Benford at the corner positions,” he said.
Clark called Ramsey an “extremely versatile player” and emphasized how his experience and skill set would immediately elevate Buffalo’s defense.
Clark also pointed to the team’s recent playoff shortcomings, especially against Kansas City, as further reason to act.
He reminded fans, “The Bills’ problem wasn’t just getting stopped on short plays; it was letting the Chiefs, who struggled to score the next week, hang 32 points on them.”
A playmaker like Ramsey, in his view, could help close that gap.
Still, Buffalo is keeping its options open.
The team hosted free agent James Bradberry on Wednesday, who, despite missing the 2024 season due to an Achilles injury, remains a viable option.
Bradberry’s connection to GM Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott, dating back to their Carolina days, could make a reunion likely if the draft board doesn’t fall their way.
Bradberry, a former All-Pro and Super Bowl winner, brings veteran experience and would serve as a strong fallback if a Ramsey deal fails to materialize.
While a short-term deal would be expected, his signing wouldn’t preclude the Bills from drafting a young corner early.
