The brutal difference in salaries between the Dodgers and the Brewers

The Los Angeles Dodgers, the current Major League Baseball champions, and the Milwaukee Brewers, not only the best team in the National League but also in the MLB regular season, as they had the best record, are playing to be the champion of the Old Circuit and its representative in the Fall Classic to face the champion of the American League, either the Seattle Mariners, who are winning the series two to zero against the Toronto Blue Jays.

While the Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to beat the Milwaukee Brewers in six regular-season games, in the playoffs things are different and if there is a team built on money in its payroll to try to win the World Series for the second year in a row it is the Dodgers.

Blake Snell’s salary vs the combined salary of the entire Brewers pitching staff in the NLDS

According to the Instagram account Dugout Forever (@dogoutforever), which posted the following information: “Blake Snell’s salary in 2025 ($36.4 million) is greater than the combined salary of the entire Brewers pitching staff in the NLDS (~$21.9 million).

Blake Snell showed why there is a brutal salary difference

With Blake Snell’s performance in Game 1 of the Championship Series, where he pitched eight scoreless innings with one hit and 10 strikeouts, it was unprecedented in the history of the Los Angeles Dodgers and had not happened in the MLB playoffs since Roy Halladay’s no-hitter with the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2010 MLB postseason.

There is a reason why the Los Angeles Dodgers pay Blake Snell such a salary, as he looked like the pitcher from Game 6 of the 2020 World Series, when he was pitching for the Tampa Bay Rays until manager Kevin Cash controversially pulled him out of the game based on not facing the lineup for the third time in the game, something that neither Snell nor Rays fans liked, so much so that it was the left-hander’s last game with Tampa Bay until now.
