The Browns would like to have the wins as they manage to capture media attention for everything that has happened to them in the offseason

The Cleveland Browns have become known in recent history more for off-field chatter than for any serious analysis, positioning them as legitimate contenders, even within their division.

For months, the main storyline has revolved around the team’s crowded quarterback room, featuring four players vying for the starting job: veteran Joe Flacco, now 40; Kenny Pickett, entering his fifth NFL season; and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Speculation has swirled nonstop: Has Joe Flacco already locked up the starting role? Or will Kevin Stefanski give Kenny Pickett the better opportunity to lead the offense? Others insist Dillon Gabriel has eight crucial days to prove himself and become the centerpiece of the attack. Then there’s Shedeur Sanders, with some rumors suggesting he could head to Canada, while others claim he’s precisely the leader Cleveland needs.

Amid all this noise, almost no one is talking about the team’s potential on-field performance to start the season. Perhaps that’s because expectations are already low, so low that anything better than disappointment would qualify as a pleasant surprise.

Adding to the off-field narrative, the Browns unveiled an alternate helmet for the 2025 season on Wednesday, July 23. This new helmet, designed to pair with matching jerseys and pants, is called the “Alpha Dawg” and is sponsored by DUDE Wipes, which issued a statement about the collaboration.

As the kings of keeping things clean, we’re here to back the Browns as they embrace a bold new look this season with the launch of their all-brown alternate helmets.

Said Ryan Meegan, co-founder and CMO of DUDE Wipes.

We’re pumped to team up with the Browns for one of the most iconic helmet reveals the league has ever seen.

Yet despite the opportunity to reinvent their look, the design has hardly proven innovative. Ultimately, fans will have the final say on the reception of this recently released helmet.

The unveiling included a promotional event at Lake Erie that drew attention for its unique presentation. Predictably, reactions online quickly turned mocking, with social media users ridiculing the spectacle.

As the 2025 season approaches, the Browns hope their relevance will stem from on-field success rather than viral moments. But given last season’s 3-14 record, optimism remains scarce.

Conversations around the franchise may once again focus less on victories and more on surrounding drama, or potential quarterback changes. After the failed Deshaun Watson gamble, which alienated Baker Mayfield (who has since thrived in Tampa Bay), Cleveland seems trapped in a familiar cycle of questionable decisions and unmet expectations.

Now, the Browns need, urgently, to focus only on their performance on the field, instead of creating noise surrounding the whole team. It is important for them to now ramp up their level to change the whole narrative in the NFL.
