The Bengals also shut the door on Jerry Jones and rejected his offer for one of their players

Jerry Jones continues searching for ways to strengthen his defense as the Dallas Cowboys approach the second half of the 2025 season. Unfortunately for him, more and more teams are refusing to trade any of their players to help bolster his roster.

With the NFL trade deadline set for November 4, several franchises are working around the clock to find talent that can give them an extra push toward playoff contention. Jones has been particularly aggressive in recent weeks, but his efforts have yielded little success.

The Raiders and now the Bengals say no to Jerry Jones

Earlier this week, a strong rumor emerged linking the Cowboys to Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby. The speculation quickly gained traction, with reports suggesting that Jones was eager to make a blockbuster move to bring Crosby to Dallas.

The situation escalated to the point that Raiders executives had to publicly deny any intention of trading their defensive cornerstone. Crosby himself made it clear that he’s happy in Las Vegas and has no plans to leave, emphasizing that he hopes to “make history” with the franchise.

Despite Jones’ persistent attempts to strike a deal, it appears that the move is officially off the table. And now, according to new reports, the Cincinnati Bengals have joined the growing list of teams turning down Jones’ advances.

The Cowboys owner reportedly approached the Bengals about acquiring one of their top defensive players, Trey Hendrickson. However, Cincinnati’s front office firmly rejected the proposal, making it clear they won’t part with a cornerstone of their defense.

According to Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer, the Bengals flatly told Jones no, refusing to engage in talks for Hendrickson. The decision has been widely celebrated among Cincinnati fans, who applauded team management for standing firm and protecting one of their most valuable assets.

The Bengals have found new life with Joe Flacco at quarterback

Since the arrival of veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who joined the Bengals after a stint with the Cleveland Browns, the team has looked revitalized. His experience and poise have stabilized the offense, and management believes the group still has legitimate playoff hopes.

Additionally, star quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to return by mid-December, a development that would significantly boost Cincinnati’s postseason chances.

For those reasons, the Bengals are not interested in dismantling a roster that finally appears to be regaining its rhythm. Jerry Jones, once again, finds himself rebuffed as Cincinnati firmly closes the door on any potential deal for Hendrickson, leaving the Cowboys’ defensive ambitions stalled for now.
