The truth is that Jaxson Dart’s training sessions with the New York Giants have not been positive so far-especially considering he’s a first-round quarterback. While it’s expected that Russell Wilson will start for the Giants initially, it’s time for the former Ole Miss quarterback to show something promising.
In the most recent practice with the Giants, it was reported that Jaxson Dart threw his best pass so far as a Giant, connecting with veteran tight end Daniel Bellinger on a throw that ended in the end zone.
Insiders around the New York Giants have described Jaxson Dart’s performance as “inconsistent.” It’s clear he has talent, but he’ll need time and will be on the bench behind the experienced Russell Wilson. Still, at some point this season, they’ll have to put him on the field.
At Ole Miss, he had a standout career: leading the SEC with a 69.3% completion rate, 4,279 yards, and 29 touchdowns in 2024, with a career total of nearly 12,000 yards and 81 touchdowns. So the talent is there-but he’ll have to be patient. However, this situation could put head coach Brian Daboll’s job at risk.
