The Aaron Judge decision the Yankees are forced to make that could determine his future in the postseason

It’s tough to compete when your best player is sidelined, and it’s even harder when that player is the leader in the clubhouse. This is exactly the situation the New York Yankees are facing right now, after losing Aaron Judge to injury amid a crisis so severe it could knock them out of the MLB postseason.

Since July 27, the New York team placed Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list due to a right elbow flexor strain. After the 10-day period, Judge is expected to finally return to the diamond.

However, things aren’t entirely rosy. Aaron Judge‘s recovery process will prevent him from playing in the outfield to rest his affected arm. This poses a major dilemma for Aaron Boone and the organization, as they can’t afford to be without their star every day at this critical moment.

The most likely solution for Aaron Judge

The 33-year-old outfielder will likely serve as the designated hitter in some games upon his return, forcing the Yankees to decide whether Giancarlo Stanton will patrol the outfield-a move that isn’t great news for their defense.

The Yankees face a significant challenge with this duo. They must find a balance between Judge and Stanton, allowing their star to heal or avoid re-injury, as that would be a true tragedy.

Without Aaron Judge in the lineup, Aaron Boone‘s Yankees are living a nightmare and currently sit 4.5 games behind the American League East Division leader, the Toronto Blue Jays.

What we’ve seen in recent days is that the Yankees are not the Bronx Bombers without Aaron Judge, but upon his return, critical decisions will need to be made to get this season back on track.
