Noa Lang, Galatasaray’s Dutch footballer, suffered a semi-amputation of a finger during the match that the Turks lost 4-0 to Liverpool in the Champions League.

The Galatasaray striker was stretchered off after suffering a semi-amputation of his right thumb after falling in the 81st minute near the Liverpool goal and catching his hand on an advertising hoarding.

The match was stopped for several minutes while the footballer screamed on the pitch and his teammates comforted him.

Liverpool and Galatasaray doctors took a long time to bandage his thumb and stop the bleeding.

Noa Lang, who had to be given oxygen as he left the field, was taken straight to hospital and will have to undergo surgery.

“Our player Noa Lang suffered a deep cut on his right thumb and is scheduled to undergo surgery in Liverpool in the coming hours, with the presence of our medical team,” Galatasaray said in a statement

Everything went well

Hours later, the player himself confirmed on social media that the surgery had gone well, downplaying the drama of what had happened with a brief message of thanks. Galatasaray, for its part, reported the initial seriousness of the injury and the rapid medical intervention, in a match already marked by the previous injury to Osimhen.
