Terrell Suggs, former Baltimore Ravens player, pleads guilty to criminal charge after threatening to kill a man in a Starbucks

Terrell Suggs, former Baltimore Ravens defensive end, had to appear before the authorities after a road altercation with a person in Arizona. In recent days, the Maricopa County Superior Court found him guilty of disorderly conduct for displaying a firearm during a fight with a civilian outside a Starbucks in 2024.

After the verdict, the 2025 Hall of Fame finalist reached an agreement with prosecutors and will have to perform 100 hours of community service, receive anger management counseling and spend time on supervised probation. Suggs’ agent, Denise White, released a statement on his behalf, saying:

“Terrell Suggs is relieved to put this unfortunate incident behind him… The safety and well-being of his family and himself has always been his top priority, and he is grateful that everyone is safe. He appreciates everyone’s support and understanding during this time, and looks forward to moving on.”

What was the road altercation that caused him problems with the authorities?

In March 2024, Terrell Suggs stopped at a Starbucks drive-thru in Scottsdale, but parked his car a little too far from the window. He then put the car in reverse to get a better fit, but crashed into the vehicle behind him and had a verbal altercation with the driver.

The two men got out of their vehicles and argued for several minutes where the tone of voice intensified. The situation apparently calmed down when they returned to their vehicles, although Suggs reignited the problem with an obscene gesture directed at the driver of the car he had collided with.

The two shouted obscenities at each other, but the driver of the other car wanted to end the conflict and told the former Ravens star to “go away”. Suggs allegedly obeyed, but not before showing a gun, which led the driver to file a complaint.

Police stopped the retired player at a traffic light and saw the gun in his vehicle. Terrell Suggs could have spent time in prison if he had gone to trial and lost. However, prosecutors agreed to drop the threatening or intimidating charge and required him to plead guilty to disorderly conduct to avoid prison, and the former Ravens’ defense agreed.

Terrell Suggs was with the Baltimore Ravens from 2003 to 2018 and the following year with the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.

His numbers detail 243 games where his defensive position allowed him to make 139 quarterback sacks and 264 assisted tackles
