With the highly anticipated fight between Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez just around the corner, a discussion on social media about doping tests has caught the attention of fans and experts.

Amid accusations about alleged inconsistencies in the dates of the VADA tests, SNAC founder Victor Conte came forward to publicly clarify his role and the data related to the American fighter’s doping control.

Victor Conte defends transparency in VADA process

In recent months, several names in boxing have come under scrutiny for doping-related issues, and Terence Crawford has been no exception.

In response to comments from content creator and boxing commentator ShowBizz the Adult, who pointed out alleged inconsistencies in VADA test results, Victor Conte explained his relationship with the fighter and defended the testing process.

“Yes, I do a lot of things for Terence Crawford. I’m not just a financial sponsor. I also provide nutritional guidance and supplement recommendations,” said Conte, underlining his active involvement in the fighter’s team.

Conte confirmed that Crawford has been subjected to VADA testing in all of his recent fights, but clarified that the publication of the results does not always depend on the athlete, but on the promoters or media partners who may decide whether that information is made public.

What happened to the date on the VADA test document?

The controversy intensified when ShowBizz mentioned an alleged error in a control document. According to him, instead of showing a collection date in June 2025, as announced on social networks, the document marked June 2024, which raised doubts about its validity.

Victor Conte, however, downplayed the matter, suggesting that it is a simple typographical error. In his post on X, he detailed that both Crawford and Canelo were enrolled in the VADA program on June 10, 2025, and that Crawford was tested on June 13, which coincides with a video posted on June 14 by Fight Hub TV, which refers to the same test.

VADA does not always publish the results, depending on whether the promoter authorizes it or not

Conte

It was Conte’s statements trying to clarify the situation and calm the situation.

Although the erroneous date on the document (June 23, 2024) raises suspicions, both Conte and some analysts believe there is no evidence of tampering or irregularities in the testing process.
