Terence Crawford reveals the key to his success since birth and sends one final warning shot at Canelo Alvarez

Heading into the final few days before a potential “fight of the century“, not many are giving Terence Crawford much of a chance. The doubts surrounding “Bud” against Canelo Alvarez stem from him having to move up several weight classes to face one of the best boxers in recent history. Crawford, whose records sits at 41-0, is no slouch himself though.

In fact, many believe he’s a better fighter at this moment in time than Alvarez is. The question is whether that will shine through despite the weight class discrepancy. While it seems to be a big advantage for Canelo, Crawford actually is taking this as par for the course. That’s because he has practically been undersized since he was born.

Terence Crawford sees no other option than to prove people wrong and beat Canelo Alvarez

Crawford revealed as much in an interview with ESPN, where he delved deep into what has driven him throughout his personal life and boxing career. In essence, Bud has grown accustomed to proving everyone wrong. And he hopes to do the same on September 13 in Las Vegas.

“It’s just something I was born with. I just think that being undersized my entire life made me have to work harder than other people who were blessed with natural talent, size and things like that.”

Crawford also made sure to send a final warning shot at Canelo, and even to his fans. Bud has never lost, and he doesn’t see Saturday going any other way.

“Losing is not an option. I have to win at all costs and no matter what. Canelo’s fans are going to be crying on Sunday morning when I take his belts.“

It’s very possible that Alvarez has never faced a boxer with as much confidence as Crawford. Whether that means Canelo will come out on the losing end or not, remains to be seen.
