Terence Crawford continues his preparation for the fight against Canelo Alvarez, a fight that could well be considered the most important in the career of the American champion.

Crawford will look to make history by becoming the first boxer of the modern era to achieve undisputed status in three different divisions, however, to do so he will have to overcome Saul Alvarez, one of the most important boxers of recent times.

How does Terence Crawford come into the fight?

Crawford arrived in Riyadh this week to take part in the official pre-fight press conference, where he was greeted with affection by local fans and even received symbolic gifts, such as a sword.

As part of his visit to the Saudi capital, the undefeated pugilist also trained at the Mike Tyson Boxing Club gym, one of the most renowned facilities in the country. Although Tyson was not present, Crawford made the most of the visit, staying focused on his goal.

During training, Crawford was caught doing warm-up exercises, combinations on the bag, shadow boxing in the ring, jumping rope and abdominal work routines.

Who is the favorite in the Canelo vs Crawford fight?

For many experts, Crawford arrives in optimal condition for the showdown with Canelo, despite the fact that the Mexican has been more active recently, as his last victory was against William Scull, but Crawford‘s discipline and technical skill combined with his physical prowess could be determining factors in this, one of the most anticipated fights of the year.

Among those who see Crawford as having a chance is Bozy Ennis, father and trainer of fellow boxer Jaron “Boots” Ennis, who in a recent interview expressed his confidence that Crawford’s tactical intelligence could make the difference against Canelo, highlighting his ability to frustrate opponents who need to plant their feet to throw their punches, such as the Mexican.

“I lean towards Terence”

Ennis also proposed a strategy based on constant movement, combination punching and the use of tactical clinching to destabilize the rhythm of the fight. He recalled that Canelo’s two defeats (against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Dmitry Bivol) came precisely against opponents who opted for mobility and control of space.

Terence Crawford’s record

With a perfect record of 41 wins, 31 of them by knockout, Terence Crawford will look to continue to make history against one of the biggest names in boxing today. Canelo, on the other hand, will try to reaffirm his dominance at 168 pounds and continue to prove that although his style has been constantly questioned, his results are strong enough to continue to lead at 128 pounds.
