In a night filled with excitement and anticipation, Keyshawn Davis claimed the WBO Lightweight World Championship with a fourth-round knockout of Denys Berinchyk at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. The victory was not just a personal triumph for Davis but also a moment of pride for his mentor and fellow boxer, Terence Crawford.

Crawford, who has been a guiding force for Davis, was visibly emotional as he watched his protégé secure the title. Davis, known as “The Businessman,” delivered a masterclass in boxing, knocking Berinchyk down twice before the referee called the fight in the fourth round.

The victory improved Davis’ record to 13-0 with nine knockouts, solidifying his status as one of the most promising fighters in the lightweight division. Crawford’s support for Davis was evident throughout the fight. During the bout, Crawford advised Davis to focus on body shots, a strategy that ultimately led to the knockout. He also believes that he would definitely be a problem for Gervonta Davis, as they look to meet soon.

There is special recognition from him

The bond between Crawford and Davis extends beyond the ring. Both boxers train at B&B Boxing Academy in Omaha, Nebraska, and share a common trainer in Brian ‘Bomac’ Mcintyre. Crawford’s presence at the weigh-ins and his vocal support during the fight provided Davis with the motivation he needed to overcome the challenges of the night.

As Davis celebrated his victory, he acknowledged Crawford’s role in his success. With the WBO Lightweight Championship now in his possession, Davis has set his sights on future challenges, including potential bouts with other top fighters in the division.

Crawford, meanwhile, continues to prepare for his own upcoming fight against boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez, a bout that has generated significant excitement among boxing fans. The night at Madison Square Garden was a testament to the power of mentorship and the impact of having a strong support system. For Keyshawn Davis, the journey to becoming a world champion was made even sweeter by the unwavering support of his friend and mentor, Terence Crawford.
