In a little over a month, boxing fans will get another mega-fight that’s sure to be a spectacle. Two of the best pound-for-pound fighters the sport has seen over the past decade, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, will do battle in Las Vegas on September 13 in front of what will be an epic Allegiant Stadium crowd.
It’s really anyone’s fight, although Alvarez comes in with the size advantage due to Crawford having to move up two weight classes for the bout. But Alvarez hasn’t been his dominant self since losing to Dmitry Bivol in 2022, which could pave the way for a Crawford victory. Before we even get to fight night, Crawford must actually make weight. Reports suggest he has bulked up just fine in the lead-up.

Crawford is taking training seriously, while also mixing it up aside from just weight training and sparring. On Saturday, Crawford shared Instagram stories of himself braving the cold while shadow-boxing up in the Colorado Springs mountains
Crawford was joined by Carlito Mejia Garibo. Garibo is an up-and-coming boxer out of Omaha, Nebraska, the same hometown as Crawford.
Alvarez has been known to train at extreme temperatures, as well. The Mexican frequently shows himself plunging into ice tubs in very cold climates. Both boxers know exactly what their bodies need for this particular fight.
