Taylor Swift stands up Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes at a benefit after making the announcement of a lifetime

Kansas City got a healthy dose of star power this weekend as Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes headlined the annual Big Slick charity weekend, raising money for Children’s Mercy Hospital. But while Chiefs fans were thrilled by their NFL heroes, one notable name was missing from the festivities: Taylor Swift.

The pop megastar remained absent from the Missouri event after announcing that she had finally secured the rights to her first six studio albums, a moment she described as a long-awaited personal triumph.

Saturday night’s Big Slick Show at T-Mobile Center was the main event, drawing celebrities and fans alike to the charitable spectacle.

Kelce and Mahomes appeared onstage to thunderous applause and the energy was palpable, with Kansas City’s football royalty flanked by a star-studded lineup that included Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Eric Stonestreet, Rob Riggle and Heidi Gardner.

Big Slick dazzles again while Swift celebrates a different kind of win

The fundraiser kicked off Thursday with a private “Just Us” cocktail gathering, followed by a celebrity softball game on Friday, played just ahead of the Royals-Tigers game at Kauffman Stadium.

But it was Saturday’s showcase event that had all eyes on Kansas City, with the likes of Impractical Jokers, Will Forte, Johnny Knoxville, and even WWE’s Baron Corbin (Tom Pestock) joining the fun.

Notably absent was Swift, who opted to stay away from the glitz of Big Slick just one day after making headlines for reclaiming ownership of her musical catalog.

Swift penned a heartfelt note to fans on her website Friday, announcing that she had bought back the rights to her first six albums originally held by Shamrock Capital, the hedge fund that acquired them after Scooter Braun sold the master recordings.

“To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it,” Swift wrote. “I can’t thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now.”

She marked the moment with a now-viral Instagram post featuring her six iconic album covers with the caption: “You belong with me.”

The post quickly drew attention from her inner circle. Travis Kelce was among the first to like the announcement, while Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, re-posted the news to their own social media, with Brittany commenting: “Just so amazing.”
