At any major sporting event, there will always be celebrities and famous athletes rubbing shoulders. We will certainly see that come true in the Super Bowl in just a couple of weeks, but the Kansas City Chiefs see it happen weekly thanks to Travis Kelce and his relationship with Taylor Swift.
Swift’s appearances at Chiefs home games brings about global attention, and in turn has brought more and more celebrities to Arrowhead Stadium. In last weekend’s game against the Houston Texans, WNBA fans were stunned to see Caitlin Clark having a private conversation with Swift in their suite. The moment went viral on social media, and it has people wondering what it could mean for the future.
Clark is a noted Swiftie and has also been a Chiefs fan for quite a while, so it was the perfect combination for the basketball star. No one knows what the two were talking about, but it had WNBA fans hoping it means Swift will make it out to an Indiana Fever game at some point in the future.
Will Taylor Swift ever attend a WNBA game?
ESPN’s Elle Duncan believes Swift even coming out to one WNBA game could be a turning point for the league and women’s sports as a whole.
I’m hoping that CC can convince Taylor to bless the WNBA or the women’s college basketball space as well with her presence. Because the same way she was able to bring so much attention to the NFL… We could really use a Taylor Swift bump in the women’s sports space.
Swift just showing up for a single game would be massive for the league. The WNBA is growing, especially with so many young talents entering the league, but a Swift “bump” would be crucial.
