Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are combining their achievements on the football field with their entrepreneurial ambitions. The Kansas City Chiefs stars have partnered to launch a restaurant they hope will become an iconic destination in the city where they’ve built their legacies. Located in downtown Kansas City, the venue has already generated buzz among fans eagerly anticipating its opening and the chance to experience it firsthand.

With a sophisticated and classic touch, 1387 Prime Steakhouse has created high expectations. Even the name carries special meaning, blending the jersey numbers of Mahomes and Kelce -15 and 87- into one memorable identity. The menu, carefully designed to reflect both elegance and boldness, will be central to the restaurant’s concept.

Of course, beverages are a key part of any fine dining experience. At 1387 Prime, they will play a prominent role, with a few selections directly tied to the players’ significant others, adding a personal and unique flair to the offerings.

The Alchemy, a Taylor Swift-inspired cocktail

In a recent radio interview, Mahomes and Kelce spoke candidly about the cocktail menu fans can expect at the restaurant. One drink in particular captured attention: The Alchemy, a creation inspired by Kelce’s fiancée, global superstar Taylor Swift.

The cocktail’s name is a nod to a track from Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. The choice reflects the couple’s relationship while also honoring Swift’s cultural impact.

I’m not a big liquor drinker myself, but from everything I’ve heard, it’s a really good drink.”… “We obviously really wanted to have an ode to Taylor, and how important she is to not only us, but to this city as well.

Mahomes said, and added.

So I think people will be super excited to get it. It has the theatrics and stuff like that, which I think people will love, but it’s also a really good drink as well.

Mahomes added that he hopes The Alchemy becomes the restaurant’s top-selling beverage when 1387 Prime officially opens its doors on September 17.

The menu will also feature a cocktail named Queen B, created in honor of Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, adding another personal touch to the establishment’s offerings.

Mahomes addresses his private congratulatory decision

Mahomes also addressed why he didn’t publicly congratulate Kelce and Swift after their engagement announcement, clarifying the decision during the interview.

It’s our private relationship,” Mahomes explained. “That’s my brother-in-law Travis and my soon-to-be sister-in-law Taylor. So, I don’t need to talk about them all the time. Our relationship is private between us. It’s okay that time made it so that we didn’t congratulate them in the last episode.

Looking ahead, the Chiefs are preparing for a crucial matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that defeated them in last season’s Super Bowl. The game carries extra intrigue as fans wonder whether Kansas City can redeem themselves or if history will repeat itself.
